The 2-minute bulb guide.
Three numbers decide how a room feels at 7pm: color temperature, brightness and dimmability. Here's how to pick.
Color temperature (Kelvin)
- 2700K – warm white. Cozy, candle-like. Living rooms, bedrooms, dining. Our default recommendation.
- 3000K – soft white. Slightly crisper, still warm. Kitchens, entryways, bathrooms.
- 4000K+ – cool white. Task and garage lighting. Avoid in living spaces.
Brightness (lumens, not watts)
- Bedside or accent: 300–450 lm
- Dining pendant: 600–800 lm per bulb
- Kitchen island (per pendant): 700–900 lm
- Chandelier (total): 1,500–3,000 lm across all bulbs
Base type
Most of our fixtures use E26 (standard U.S. medium base) or E12 (candelabra). The base is listed under Specifications on every product page.
Dimming
Choose bulbs labeled “dimmable” and pair with an LED-compatible dimmer. Non-dimmable LEDs flicker on a dimmer.
